Joan want her greenhouse to be 4.5m long, by 2.5m wide and to have a cold frame 2m long along one side. There has been a lot of thought about maximising the space without it taking over. This greenhouse will be around 3m high though so they'll be plenty of vertical growing space inside with a full length work station and 2-tier shelving along one side. ![]() This greenhouse is being constructed using my standard, premium-grade tanalised timber rather than accoya (half of the greenhouses I build are now from accoya). However, there is no reason why this timber shouldn't last just as long - there is nowhere for water to sit and penetrate the timber and the paint coating should last for 10 years now without further application (*the greenhouses now have a minimum of 3 coats of Profilan Impra paint rather than the recommended 2. We have just learned independent testing showed that 3 coats of this paint give a life expectancy of 10 years between coats). ![]()
