Some jobs at home

I need a few projects to get on with at the weekends to help me switch off from work. Here are a few of the things I've been getting on with lately.

Laid a new path leading from the house to the workshop. This pathway gets trampled a lot. I reclaimed the pavers from the old patio that was here when we arrived. I used 36 bags of sand for the mortar mix - a full bed under each one.

A partition wall to hide the bins behind and then laid a new path and trellis - all from spare wood and slabs that we had left over.

An small extension to the back of the workshop.

A bbq structure was here when we moved into this house and I loved it but Cloudy, our dog, loves sitting under it and I was worried it would collapse on her one day. I used slate left over from the new patio we laid.

Talking of which, here we all are laying the new patio...

Running a marathon

On Sunday 20th June I will be running a local marathon organised by friends in memory of their son Ethan Ross.

I have never run this distance before so I'm practicing on Saturday mornings once I return from that week's greenhouse build.

All money raised will be donated to Welsh Air Ambulance and Young Minds charities.

Yorkshire

Finally made to Yorkshire this week after my van being off the road for over a month (not much wrong - the garage had to shut down due to a covid outbreak).

Made it on snowy morning with a view to altering the brickwork on the front (my customer had a local builder do the excellent work on the base this time). I could also bed the timber wallplates down in mortar.

This also gave me an opportunity to drop off some of the materials I'd already completed and painted to lessen the next load.
