My greenhouse forms part of a total garden landscaping design by Anna Barker. She is based in Derbyshire (see more at www.lushgardendesign.co.uk).

The hard landscaping has all been completed with such exacting diligence by Anthony of AC-Creations. I don't think he travels far from his home and is very busy but if you live nearby you would be lucky to get him (www.ac-creations.co.uk).

Oops! Workshop mishap...

Hmmmm, had a bit of a problem this week - got a 2 inch section of wood lodged in my hand.

I get splinters a lot and normally I’ll cut the skin with a Stanley blade and grab some tweezers - this one was buried deep - I pushed the tweezers 10mm into the wound and couldn’t find it.

In the end a nurse used forceps to pull open a cut and the doc. spent 20 mins trying to find it whilst another nurse poured saline solution over the hand to clear all the blood out of the way.

I’m probably over-dramatising. Images of Rambo sewing his arm up in the jungle flashed through my mind.

I’ve got 4 stitches, a course of big anti-infection pills - and some strict sitting down to do....

Got back to Sussex this week - at last. The M25 was closed between 3 junctions so I didn’t get here until 7pm. Just managed to get the structure up and unload the van before heading to the BnB.

But what a week of great weather! Scorching. It wads 48 degrees on the courts at Wimbledon - it felt that hot in the greenhouse too.

I love this greenhouse, and the spot it’s landed in - just look at the view they get leaving the greenhouse each time.
