We're on the Christmas countdown with 2 more greenhouses to build and erect before the holidays.
A brief tour around the workshop and painting shed showing how things are progressing and what we still need to get done.
I didn't manage to take many photos this week - it gets dark so early at this time of year - but I have put together a video of the four long days I was building this job. Please click the video link below if you'd like to see that.
I'll be back here in a few weeks with the completed greenhouse and glass to complete the build.
This one is a "Steve" type but a little longer (4.3m long) and with a few more panes of glass along the run to make them narrower than normal. I've added a brick-sided raised bed inside and I'll also add crested ridge cut from mahogany.
More rain and mud to cope with along the way but it's all finished. I made this one using mostly 4x2 imported, tanalised timber - less knots and tight grain. Given the larger span/width of 3.2m I added horizontal supports under the roof and jointed them in.
I hadn't appreciated the reason for the coal-burning stove. It's going to be kept alight, at a very low heat, throughout the night so that frost risk is minimised.
