People often comment that the greenhouse looks as though it’s been there forever - often just as I’ve finished it. I take that as a real compliment.
The bricks are really varied in shape and texture - professional bricklayers probably hate them for that - but the variety gives a natural hand-made appearance to the wall making it look old even though it’s just been built.
This one has a raised bed inside - brick built - you can see it on the left hand side in this photo.
We’re going to get some good quality top soil and fill it up with that. If your plants are in the soil you won’t need to water them as much - which helps if you are away from home quite a bit. I think some plants, like tomatoes, do much better planted directly in soil rather than a grow bag - they can tap down to the water as they need it.
