Really quick post - and a quick installation. I was only here for 1 night (2 days). i'm building the walls for this greenhouse on a patio that is already down so I don't need to dig out, lay foundations or provide internal flooring - which gave a decent cost saving for my customer too. Sorry for the poor light in the photos but it's getting dark at 4pm these days.
This is the newly named and built "Gillian" greenhouse with 800mm high rendered sides, slate flooring, waist high benches on 3 sides with shelving above, 4 auto-opening roof windows and 1 rear side window with crested ridge and finials all built in Accoya with a 50-year guarantee.
My customer was really helpful in knowing exactly what she wants - 3m x4m long, side walls 800mm high with rendered sides and cat flap, shelving and slatted benches throughout, solid slate flooring. I was able to draw up plans to meet that list exactly. I hadn't expected the land to be on such a slope - it's really only apparent in the RH photo once I'd laid the foundation slabs - but there was a lot of extra bricklaying to do to get the walls up to the level point and then I added lots more hardcore inside which I compacted down with a whacker plate. It was too dark to get photos of the finished slate flooring but I'll be back to build the top in a couple of weeks so I can show you then.
4m wide by 3.5m deep - the 'Henry' Greenhouse is really tall at the front with a long sloping rear roof 2.7m long in a single pane of toughened glass along the full run (no overlapping glass). There is a brick-sided internal raised bed, metal rod supports in the roof (to support hanging baskets or twine for tomatoes) and 6 tall side-opening windows around 3 sides. The rear has 2 -tier internal shelving in tanalised timber which can be removed for cleaning and for flexibility. The roof has 4 auto-opening windows. The whole structure is made from Accoya with a 50 year guarantee, finished in Profilan Impra paint mixed to F&B Paean Black colour (no 294). I love this greenhouse! My customers asked me to come up with a modern design with the door on the front and I think we nailed it. I really love having the full glass door as well. If you want any of these features, or this greenhouse exactly as here please get in touch. I'll add the price and spec details of this 'Henry' to the prices page. From: Kerry

I am so looking forward to getting away from my desk to spend time in and around it. Chris and I had our first coffee in there today, the first of many more. I'll update you with some pics as things develop. Thank you so much for being such an amazing and talented chap, who just gets stuff! And thanks to Caroline for her paintwork 🙂. Don't hesitate to visit us if you are down this way. Best wishes, Kerry
A modern style greenhouse for my customer in Oxford - no finials, a single glazed door panel, strong clean lines and a duo-pitched roof - and my customer has made a great colour choice of Paean Black (no 294 Farrow and Ball) . Such an impressive colour. I'm really excited to see this one all complete. The usual building site array of materials I need to use up before the satisfying job of completing the setts flooring inside. We moved the raised bed to the rear of the greenhouse - loads of space for tomatoes. This greenhouse is 3.5m wide by 4m long and it's going to be quite tall at around 3.2m high. The rear roof slopes at a pitch of 25degree with sheets of glass measuring almost 2.7m long each. The front of the greenhouse is taller to make room for the doorway with a steep and shorter roof pitch at 40degrees. All the roof timbers will be made from 4x2 sections - the whole greenhouse will be made from solid Accoya.
My first Ultra running race and what a fantastic experience it was. The course is just over 47miles (48 if you take a wrong turn!) with 8.5k of elevation taking in all the hills overlooking Lake Windemere. Around 600 people entered to complete one lap of the lake in under 24 hours. Getting ready to start - this is at around 5:30 in the morning. Some of the competitors getting ready for the start. Taking a picture of me taking a picture... I crossed the finish line in under 12 hours, which is supposed to be quite good - I was really happy with it.
Back over Liverpool way this week to build a "Mark" greenhouse on the base I laid earlier. This greenhouse is 5m long by 3.5m wide and around 3.2m high - plenty of growing room but also a great place to relax and enjoy the garden especially when the weather isn't that great - and this week we had a lot of rain. This greenhouse was made from tanalised timber painted in Anthracite Gray. However the whole ridge section was built from accoya which has a life expectancy of over 60 years and a guarantee of 50 years - so the ridge will never need attention. I made the finials extra sharp to deter the pigeons which like to hang about. Next adventure - THE LAP - I left here around 6pm on the Friday night, back to Wales to unload the van, pack all my running gear, then head up to Lake Windermere to book in for an Ultra running race taking place the next day - a 48mile run around the hill overlooking Lake Windermere.
